Availability and tested scope

A source preview.

Version 0.1 builds its backend locally and uses a reviewed or locally built VSIX. Installing the extension does not install the backend. Marketplace publication and its installation and update journey are pending.

Platform coverage

Platform coverage varies. The workflows and known issues below describe what has been verified for each environment.

Mac ARM64

Tested workflows

Observed scope

Findings, source navigation, Git protection, recovery and representative companion extensions.

Ubuntu AMD64

Tested workflows

Observed scope

Clean and critical-finding scans, real Git pushes, recovery and state preservation.

Before you start

Some Advisor suggestions are insufficiently specific and require careful review.

Fedora AMD64

Partial coverage

Observed scope

Basic preparation, eight-scanner scans, multiple repositories, startup and enrollment, reboot and reconnect, and permitted and rejected pushes.

Before you start

Maintenance, recovery and current Advisor behavior have incomplete coverage. Editor-state preservation remains unverified.

Windows native

Experimental

Observed scope

WSL backend, scanner preparation, manual Refresh, multiple repository findings, complete outgoing-history checks and ordinary permitted and rejected pushes.

Before you start

Automatic startup can time out during private-storage verification. Source navigation and some push-protection workflows are not yet fully verified.

Remote WSL

Experimental

Observed scope

Some backend dependencies have been observed.

Before you start

The Linux extension-host workflow, source navigation, push protection and reconnect have not been verified. Windows native checks do not cover Remote WSL.

Known issues and next actions

Windows automatic startup

Private-storage verification can time out. This is a failed verification, not proof that permissions are unsafe. Do not loosen ACLs, copy credentials or bypass checks. Manual Refresh has worked in a retained profile, but is not a reliable automatic-startup fix.

Conservative scan reuse

Previous-cache rollback status can change the readiness revision even when active data and binaries are unchanged. A previously clean protected push may be refused. Once scanner status settles, explicitly run Check Outgoing Commits… again. Missing current evidence is not a pass.

Mixed-workspace summary

A repository name can repeat in a Mac Refresh summary. Review each repository's independent outcome and Problems counts.

Advisor quality

Suggestions can be incomplete or incorrect. Review them before applying changes. Advisor never determines the gate.

Expiring scanner definitions

Obtain refreshed reviewed source, rebuild changed inputs and prepare again. Downloading the same expired definition does not renew it.

Local protection and recovery

Hooks can be bypassed with --no-verify or another clone. Use remote controls for unavoidable enforcement. Preserve runtime state and named volumes; backup and restore helpers are not a validated disaster-recovery facility.
